£50,000 has been allocated to upgrade the site.

Fernwood is a small park based in Common ward. It is a small site situated between properties on a housing estate and is suitable for the younger age range. The surface is in a poor state and requires replacement.

It forms part of a recreational network including two other play parks within the ward which is well served by a good population of under 16s. Holmcroft Park is less than a 15 minute walk away.

The consultation process is underway and leaflets have been distributed to local residents.

The deadline for the consultation is the end of October 2026.
