A floral tribute to commemorate the coronation of King Charles lll has taken centre stage at award-winning parks in Stafford and Stone.
The flowers in the carpet beds at Victoria Park in Stafford and Stonefield Park in Stone are designed to mark His Majesty’s coronation.
The Victoria Park bed was moved into the heart of the park, near to the popular bowling green, following its £2.5m Heritage Lottery Funded restoration in 2020 - and last year it paid tribute to the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth ll
Previous floral arrangements in the parks have honoured the NHS, armed forces as well as organisations and charities for the work they have done to benefit Stafford Borough.
Nearly 9,000 plants were used to create the bed at Stonefield Park - while more than 5,000 were used on Victoria Park.
Both Stafford Borough Council run parks have been awarded a ‘Green Flag’ - the national yardstick for the best parks and open spaces in the country.
Victoria Park hosted ‘The Big Stafford Help Out’ on Bank Holiday Monday (8 May) as part of local coronation activities with an artisan market alongside stalls celebrating volunteers across the borough.
