Families from across Stafford Borough came together for a fun-filled Party in the Park with visitors enjoying a day packed with activities, entertainment and community spirit.
Around 1200 people of all ages attended the free community event at the award- winning Victoria Park in Stafford. The day is organised by Freedom Leisure’s Healthy Communities team in partnership with Stafford Borough Council.
Throughout the day, attendees took part in a wide range of activities, including archery, gymnastics, long jump and family games. Visitors also enjoyed family fairground rides, circus skills, community stalls, food and drink vendors, and interactive medieval-themed activities delivered by Historic Stafford. One of the day’s highlights was the popular Duck Race, organised by Stafford Rotary Club.
The event on Saturday (11 July) also provided an opportunity for local youth groups, charities and community organisations to showcase the work they have been doing and highlight the services, projects and support available within the local community.
As well as providing opportunities for residents to be active and try something new, the event demonstrated the strength of partnership working across Stafford and the wide range of organisations helping to build healthier, more connected communities.
Alistair Gould, Area Manager at Freedom Leisure, said: "It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying Party in the Park and making the most of everything the day had to offer.
“Events like this are a fantastic way of bringing our community together, encouraging people to be active and creating opportunities for families to spend quality time together. We would like to thank all of our partners, volunteers, stallholders and visitors who helped make the event such a success."
