Seventy flippers took part in the annual Pancake Day race in Stafford.

Enthusiastic participants included families, local businesses and charity groups who came together for the friendly competition.

Freedom Leisure, which delivers leisure services in partnership with Stafford Borough Council, hosted the event at the town’s Victoria Park.

The atmosphere was set from the moment the Town Crier officially called in the race, signalling the start of a lively afternoon enjoyed by more than 250 spectators, including the Deputy Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Andy Cooper.

Ross Stephenson, Events Manager at Freedom Leisure said: “It was fantastic to see so many people coming together and having a flipping great time! The community spirit was truly inspiring, thanks to all participants, supporters and spectators who contributed to the day’s success, we can’t wait to welcome even more competitors to next year’s race.”

He added the event once again demonstrated why it remained a firm favourite in Stafford’s community calendar.
