Motorists in Stafford and Stone will be able to park for free on some key days in the run up to Christmas.
Leader of Stafford Borough Council, Aidan Godfrey, announced this week that charges on all the local authority run car parks in both towns will be waived on the three Saturdays before Christmas.
He said the move was aimed at encouraging more people into the town centres to boost local business during the festive season.
It means no charges throughout the day on the 6th, 13th, and 20th of December. There are nearly 3,000 spaces run by the local authority in Stafford, and more than 250 in Stone, where motorists will be able to park for free.
And in an extension to previous Christmas offers, the free festive parking will include the Waterfront multi-storey and Riverside Undercroft car parks in Stafford.
Councillor Godfrey said: “I hope this will encourage more people to eat, drink and shop in Stafford and Stone to support our local businesses and traders and make this an even busier time of the year for them.”
Council Deputy Leader, Rob Kenney, who has responsibility for the town centres, said it had been another challenging year for many retailers.
“We all have to support our local businesses, and I hope residents and visitors will take advantage of the free parking offer.”
