The Bandstand roof needed some new timbers
Restoration work has continued on the Bandstand, including new timber work to the roof.
A new floor has been laid in the thatched toilet block, which will include a new office space.
The original windows have been upcycled and re-used, with work on the walls and interior now underway. The new training and education centre is also taking shape with a new roof, doors and windows in place, work will start on the interior very soon.
Clear view from the War Memorial and the Mottram Shelter to the Bandstand
Work has begun to clear the area between the Mottram Shelter and the bandstand to create the new events space. Some trees have been removed but will be replaced with improved planting, particularly along the Station Road boundary, which will upgrade the tree stock as a whole across the park. Selected offcuts of timber have been saved and stored to be re-used and recycled as part of the community art and crafts project.
Our Community Engagement & Events Officer is starting to form a plan of activities and events once the park re-opens.
We are also looking for volunteers to help enable us to deliver all our exciting ideas.
