The Heritage Lottery funded project in Victoria Park is well under way, here are some pictures to show the progress so far.
The old aviary has now been removed to make way for the new café structure.
The birds are currently being cared for at Stonefield Park and will return once the new aviaries have been built.
All the demolition as part of the project has been completed and the programme of works is on track.
The iconic bandstand is being restored so it can be better utilised for music and events. A new space is being created behind the bowling pavilion, that will house a container for our grounds staff to continue the fantastic standards within Victoria Park.
The new training facility is taking shape with the internal strip out completed and the fit out plans in motion.
We have started refurbishment on the existing thatched toilet block, this will take shape as the new toilet block and office accommodation for on-site staff. The entrance will be park facing to ensure greater safety and accessibility.
The raised carpet bed has been removed and will be relocated in front of the office block and will continue to showcase our wonderful floral display each year. The stone from this bed will be used to create some raised planters within our Sensory garden.
