Homelessness - I Have or Will Have Nowhere to Live

Finding yourself with nowhere to live can be a worrying and stressful time, especially if you have young children, are pregnant or do not have much money.  We want to help you by preventing you from becoming homeless whenever possible. It is important that you come and see us or contact us as soon as possible.

If you need to contact us outside of our office hours, please phone our emergency out of hours number on 01785 619 170 where one of our Housing Options Team Officers will be able to help you.

If you are worried that you may lose your home or have been asked to leave by a family member, friend or landlord you should attend one of our drop-in sessions held Monday to Friday 9:30am to 11:30am at the Civic Centre. You will be able to talk to one of our Housing Options Team Officers, who will be able to assess your situation and provide guidance on the housing options available to you, whether this is to help you to stay in your home or find a new home and prevent your from becoming homeless.  Local councils have a legal duty to help some people, but not everyone gets help with housing.  Some people can only get help with advice on finding a home.

If you are going to become homeless within the next 28 days and we are unable to prevent this from happening, we can complete a homelessness application with you.
