We are currently dealing with a backlog of planning applications, please expect significant delays in the validation of applications.
If all of the information required to validate an application is provided with your initial submission the application will be backdated to the working day on which it was received.
We are implementing an improvement programme in order to reduce the current delay, and you may notice changes in how the validation team operate.
The number of applications being submitted with insufficient information has contributed to service delays. In some cases, it has taken several months to receive the necessary information and we can no longer accept this way of working. We require you to provide all of the information necessary on submission. We will write to you where further information is required, clearly communicating what we need and setting strict deadlines for you to submit this information.
