I work in the print industry.

First elected a councillor on Stafford Borough Council in 1995.

Past Mayor of Stafford Borough.

Over the years I have been a Governor and Chair of Governors at schools in Stafford.

Involved with many local groups.

When not at the Council I like to walk my dog, read and follow Manchester City. I would also like to say world travel but I think I will have to wait until I retire for that!

Ralph was born in Calcutta and came to London when he was 10 years old.  He was educated at Owen's School, the London School of Economics and the London Institute of Education.  He is married with one daughter and one son and has lived in Stafford since 1972.  He has represented the people of Penkside Ward since 1979.  Ralph was the Mayor of Stafford Borough in 2002-2003.

Ralph spent a career in secondary education and is a retired secondary school headteacher.

During his period as a councillor Ralph has served on a range of committees and, at present, he is the Chairman of the Resources Scrutiny Committee.  He represents the Borough on Stafford and District Arts Council and the Sow and Penk Internal Drainage Board.

Voluntary work outside the Council includes the Rowley Trust, Chair of the Friends of St Mary's and membership of Stafford Rotary Club.

His interests include the Arts, politics and economics and gardening (when pushed).

I was born in Yorkshire and came to Stafford in 1976. I am married to my husband Peter and I have a 33 year old adopted son and, an adorable granddaughter.

In  1999 I was privileged to be elected to the Baswich Ward of Stafford Borough – a position that I still hold to this day and have been involved, and sat ,on various committees and bodies throughout the last 12 years.

In 2008/9 I was honoured to be elected as Mayor of Stafford Borough – a privilege that I shall always remember with the affection that was bestowed upon me by the people of the Borough .

Ten of the 37 parish councils in the borough are within Milwich ward. I attend meetings as often as possible and produce a regular newsletter for parish councils.

  • Co-founder West Midlands Business Council - collaboration between metropolitan and rural business organisations; to demonstrate to the farming industry lessons to be learned from the commercial sector, diversification and added value.
  • Lichfield Diocesan Board - Achieved appointment of two Rural Chaplains for Lichfield Diocese, fortuitously twelve months before foot and mouth.
  • Setting up Staffordshire Rural Mental Health Group.

Since 1971 I have lived in the Rising Brook Area where I taught in the local high school for twenty years. I was elected to Stafford Borough Council in 1997 to represent Manor Ward and I am actively involved in local community activities.

My fellow-councillor and I hold a Surgery in the Brook Cafe at Rising Brook Baptist Centre on the first Tuesday of each month (except August) from 10.15am.

I represent Stafford Borough Council on Stafford United Charities, Roger Hinton's Charity and on the Sow and Penk Drainage Board.
