Postal voters are required to reapply for their postal vote every three years.
Due to changes brought in by the Elections Act 2022, a postal vote application cannot last longer than 3 years.
If you have been asked to reapply for a postal vote by the Elections Office, you can do so by:
- applying for a postal vote online (gov.uk), or
- completing a postal vote paper application form (Electoral Commission)
You will need to reapply by the deadline of 31 January 2026.
If you do not provide a fresh application by this date we are required by law to cancel your postal vote and you will only be able to vote in person at a polling station until you make a successful reapplication to vote by post.
