Category B, C and D  Season tickets are now virtual, paper permits will no longer be posted to our customers. We will continue posting reminder letters to holders of 3, 6 and 12 month Season Tickets for now, but we hope to introduce text alerts in the near future.


Where Can I Use a Band A Season Ticket

Band A Season Tickets can be used on the Waterfront Multi-storey Car Park only.

You can apply for a Band A Season Ticket by calling 01785 619000 between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday or 8.30am and 4.30pm Friday and press option 6 for parking.

Q. How we use your personal information

A. The information that you have provided will be used by Stafford Borough Council, who are the data controller, to allow us to administer your parking permit. We will only share your information, when necessary, with our internal customer services departments for processing parking permits and facilitating payments and refunds and where the law requires or allows us to do so. Q. How can I get one?

A. Dial 01785 619000 between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday or 8.30am and 4.30pm Friday and press option 6 for parking.

You will be required to pay for the first months parking and deposit for the card when you register.

You must be able to pay by credit or debit card.

Q. How quickly can I get one?

A. We require 2 full working days’ notice to process a new application.

Q. How does the card work?

A. Once you have registered your vehicle with the Council your details will be entered into our parking system. Access and exit to the car park and designated areas will be managed by Automatic Number Plate Readers ANPR which will raise the barriers to the permitted areas automatically on approach.

Q. Where do I Park?

A. Card holders must park in the designated permit holder’s area of the Waterfront car park on levels 7 to 14 which are clearly signed. Card holders vehicles parked in any other area will be charged the daily rate due prior to exiting the car park.

Q. How long is the parking session valid?

A. Pay as you Go parking sessions are valid for one month from date you receive your top up card or when you subsequently pay to top up the parking session.

Q. How do I renew?

A. Cards can be topped up by cash or credit card on a monthly basis at selected pay stations within Waterfront car park situated on level 1 and 3. If your Season Ticket has expired you will need to call 01785 619000 option 6 to renew which will take 1 full working day to process.

Q. How do I get my card?

A. Pick up from the Parking Office at the entrance to Waterfront Car Park during your first visit.

Q. Why do I have to pay a deposit?

A. To cover the cost of the RFID top up card.

Q. How do I get the deposit back?

A. Return your RFID card to the Civic Centre Reception at Stafford Borough Council and the deposit will be refunded to your credit card.

Q. Can I pay by cash or cheques?

A. No, only credit or debit card

Q. Can I use it on other car parks?

A. No, only valid on the designated permit holders area of Waterfront multi-storey car park Terms and Conditions of Use on levels 7 to 14.

Q. Can I have more than one registration number?

A. Yes, you can apply to have up to two registration numbers on the same season ticket.  Where more than one vehicle registration is specified on the account, the permit will only be valid for one vehicle at any one time. Stafford Borough Council records the registrations of vehicles using a permit. If more than one registration is recorded using the same permit at the same time, a Penalty Charge Notice may be issued.

Q. Where do I display the ticket?

A. Season tickets are electronic, no paper permit will be issued or require displaying in the windscreen.

Q. What do I do if the barrier doesn’t rise?

A. In the event of the barrier failing to raise automatically place your RFID top up card on the sensor on the ticket machine barrier located on the entrance and level 7 and this will raise the barrier. In the event of the barrier failing to raise press the intercom button on the entrance post and speak to a member of the parking team.

Q. Are there any rules we must abide by?

A. Yes, the season ticket holder is subject to the current Stafford Borough Council off street parking places order (which is available for inspection at the civic centre) and you must comply with the car park regulations as stated on the signs situated on the car park.

Q What happens if I change my vehicle?

A. If you change your vehicle you will need to have the RFID card updated an administration fee of £12.50 will be charged; please dial 01785 619000 between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday or 8.30am and 4.30pm Friday and press option 6 for parking

Q. Will you send a reminder?

A. Reminders will be shown on the exit podium electronic display screen.

Q. What will happen if I park in the wrong area of the car park?

A. Any vehicle not adhering to the car park regulations and Terms and Conditions of Use of the season ticket will be liable to a penalty charge notice of £50 or £70 dependent on the contravention.

Q. Are season tickets interchangeable?

A. No, Season tickets are not interchangeable between vehicles unless you have nominated two registration numbers.

Q. What happens if I lose my top up card?

A. Lost RFID proximity top up card will be replaced, at the discretion of the Council for a fee of £12.50.

Q. Am I guaranteed a parking space?

A. No, There are no reserved spaces and the permit does not guarantee a space; lack of free spaces will not be accepted as a reason to park in any unauthorised parking area.

Q. What if I want to cancel my season ticket before its expiry date?

A. The deposit will be refunded on return of the RFID top up card
