I need some help on how to look at applications online
How do I look at a planning application online?
You can look for applications using the ‘simple search’ on Planning Public Access.
If you know the application reference number which will look something like this 18/12345/FUL, type that into the search box at the bottom of the screen and click the purple ‘search’ button.
You can also search by address but this works best if you use just the street name or postcode.
You’ll either go straight to the application or be given a list to choose from by clicking a link. From there you can use the tabs to look at the information we hold. To look at the documents select the ‘Documents’ tab then click on the ‘view associated documents’ link.
If you know other details about the application, like the date is was decided for example, you can use the ‘advanced search’ option.
Can I come to the offices and view a paper file?
We are trying to reduce the amount of printing we produce but you are welcome to come into the Civic Centre and look at any information we have got in the Case Officer’s file. It’s worth checking first that the Officer hasn’t taken the file out on site. Similarly, if you want to talk to the Officer about the application they might not be in when you call but we can book an appointment for you.
