Staffordshire Warmer Homes
What you can get
- Air source heat pumps
- Cavity wall, loft and under floor insulation
- Solar electricity panels (PV)
- External wall insulation
How to qualify
- You claim benefits or tax credits (including Universal Credit)
- You have low or no income
- You are disabled
- You are elderly
- You have very young children
- You are currently unemployed

Sustainable Warmth
Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2)
HUGs is a government funded scheme, aimed at homes that are heated by any means other than gas. HUG can provide energy efficiency upgrades and low carbon heating to homes. This scheme is running until March 2025.
How to qualify
- Your home is heated by any means other than gas
- You are a homeowner or privately rent your home
- Your property has a rating of D, E, F or G on a registered Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
- You receive a means tested benefit, or,
- You have a household income of less than £31,000 per annum.
*In the cases of extremely vulnerable households or where there are additional needs, home visits can be offered.
Stafford Borough Council does not have the facility to take or make applications. Applications into the Staffordshire Warmer Homes scheme and Home Upgrade Grant MUST be made via the Staffordshire Warmer Homes website or by contacting Warmer Homes Stafford.
