    Home Energy Checks

    What can I get?

    • Telephone-based and face-to-face* advice at home
    • Check energy tariffs
    • Help with applying for grants and discounts eg the Warm Homes Discount
    • Check that you are receiving all benefits you are entitled to
    • Install a range of low-cost measures

    How do I qualify?

    All residents of Stafford Borough are eligible for support.


    Staffordshire Warmer Homes

    What can I get?

    • Connection to the gas mains
    • Install first-time central heating systems
    • Air source heat pumps available for people living too far away from the gas network
    • Cavity wall and loft insulation

    How do I qualify?

    • You claim benefits or tax credits (including Universal Credit)
    • You have low or no income
    • You are disabled
    • You are elderly
    • You have very young children
    • You are currently unemployed

    Green Homes Grant

    Local Authority Delivery Scheme (LADS)

    What can I get?

    • Only available for a limited time until 31 March 2022
    • Cavity wall and solid wall insulation
    • Air source heat pumps
    • Smart heating controls
    • Solar thermal insulation
    • Other measures also available

    How do I qualify?

    • You are a homeowner
    • Your property has a rating of E, F or G on a registered Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
    • You receive a means tested benefit, or,
    • You have a household income of less than £30,000 per annum

    Green Homes Grant

    Direct Voucher Scheme

    Apply for a grant to cover up to 2/3 of the cost of upgrading your home, up to a maximum grant of £10,000.

    What can I get?

    • Only available for a limited time until 31 March 2022
    • Cavity wall and solid wall insulation
    • Air source heat pumps
    • Smart heating controls
    • Solar thermal insulation
    • Other measures also available

    How do I qualify?

    • You are a homeowner and don’t meet the criteria to receive a Green Homes Grant
    • You are a landlord (private or social)
    • You can check eligibility on the Simple Energy Advice website

    *In the cases of extremely vulnerable households or where there are additional needs, home visits can be offered subject to COVID-19 related restrictions and in line with government guidance at the time.
