Design

Planning decisions must take account of design.  Designing and shaping towns and the countryside means considering the balance of different types of development, the character of local places and the nurturing of place.

The design of our towns and villages is an important consideration, from the quantity and balance of what types of development should be allowed, to the suitable styles of architecture that complement the existing area.

The Council encourages good design, as defined in the Design Supplementary Planning Document.
