Brown Bin 2026 - Sign up to Garden Waste Collection

The charge to have your garden waste collected in 2026 is £43.50 per brown bin.

Check your bin collection dates

Your wheeled bins, blue bag and external food waste caddy must be ready by 7am on collection day and placed at your nearest collection point at the boundary of your property.

Make sure your bin, blue bag and food waste caddy are clearly visible for the collection crew and not causing inconvenience to others.

Where Does it Go shows you what happens to the contents of your bins, blue bag and food waste caddy once they have been collected in Stafford Borough.

We provide one bin per household for each service you receive - recycling, waste and garden waste (requires permit). We also provide a blue bag for paper and cardboard and food waste caddies. Please see below for further information.

Composting

You can turn some of your waste into compost at home by using a compost bin.

For more information on buying a composter and how to start composting go to the Council's partnership website GetComposting, or call the helpline on 08445 714444.
