Walking

Walking is more than just physical exercise.

Physical inactivity can increase social isolation, reduce independence and diminish physical and mental health.

Lockdowns and social distancing restrictions prevented many people, particularly those who had been shielding or self-isolating, from participating in activities that support their health and wellbeing or from fully engaging with their communities. This may make people more apprehensive about getting outside again.

Walking is free and you can choose to do it at your own pace, with someone else or in a group. You may be trying to gain or build confidence to go for a walk, or want to explore Stafford Borough and find varied, beautiful routes on your doorstep.
