Stafford Borough Council initiated its Local Plan Review in July 2017. This review, will in time, replace the adopted Plan for Stafford Borough 2011-2031 (adopted June 2014) and the Plan for Stafford Borough Part 2 (adopted January 2017), setting out the long-term spatial vision and strategy for the Borough.
The Council are currently consulting on the following:
- Call for Sites – new developments including the Brownfield Land Register
- Call for Sites - Local Green Space

Stafford Borough Council ran a seven week consultation from 19 July until 6 September 2017 on the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report and Technical Appendices. We are currently analysing the responses to the consultation.
The Sustainability Appraisal is an important part of the process in preparing the new Local Plan. Its purpose is to assess the extent to which Local Plan policies or proposals will achieve environmental, social and economic objectives.
